Alissa : <\/b>En 2004, Danny et Kells \u00e9taient dans un autre groupe ensemble, ils avaient besoin d’une chanteuse, je les ai rejoint. En 2006 nous avons vir\u00e9s le batteur et nous avons Simon depuis. En 2010, nous avons ajout\u00e9 Paco. Nous avons sorti notre premier album en 2007, c\u2019est un album que nous avons essentiellement \u00e9crit pour jouer sur sc\u00e8ne, il \u00e9tait vraiment facile \u00e0 enregistrer parce que tout cela \u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 bien rod\u00e9e \u00e0 force de le jouer sur sc\u00e8ne depuis tant d\u2019ann\u00e9es. On s\u2019appelait The Tempest au d\u00e9but et on a chang\u00e9 notre nom pour The Agonist quand on nous a sign\u00e9s et c\u2019est tout.<\/p>\n
ANR : D\u00e9crirais tu \u00ab Prisoners \u00bb comme une suite a \u00ab\u00a0Lullabies for the Dormant Mind\u00a0\u00bb?<\/b><\/p>\n
Alissa : <\/b>Oui, je pense. Selon mes gouts personnels, j’aurais \u00e9t\u00e9 heureuse de faire \u00ab\u00a0Lullabies for the Dormant Mind\u00a0\u00bb une fois de plus, parce que c\u2019\u00e9tait vraiment mon truc. Je pense que vous avez besoin de plus de patience pout \u00e9couter Prisoners, ce que je n\u2019ai pas, donc je pense que c\u2019est pourquoi il \u00e9tait frustrant de l\u2019enregistrer. Mais c’est une \u00e9volution. Ce n\u2019est pas le m\u00eame album encore une fois, c\u2019est un album diff\u00e9rent.<\/p>\n
ANR : Racontes moi en un peu plus sur les th\u00e8mes abord\u00e9s dans l\u2019album.<\/b><\/p>\n
Alissa : <\/b>C’est beaucoup plus introverti que mes pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents albums. J\u2019ai encore \u00e9videmment des sujets dont je me pr\u00e9occupe, parce qu’ils sont une partie de moi. Il y a \u00e9videmment beaucoup \u00e0 propos de la protection de la terre et la protection des animaux l\u00e0-dedans, mais il y a aussi diff\u00e9rentes sortes de concepts philosophiques dans lesquels je me plonge, et j’ai vraiment pens\u00e9 \u00e0 l’esprit par rapport \u00e0 la mati\u00e8re. L’esprit humain par rapport \u00e0 la soci\u00e9t\u00e9.
\nIl y a beaucoup d’int\u00e9r\u00eats introverti et extraverti chez les \u00eatres humains. Une grande partie des paroles sans doute ne le mentionnent pas, mais vous pourriez probablement les lire plusieurs fois et d\u00e9couvrir de nouvelles choses \u00e0 chaque fois.<\/p>\n
ANR : Tu d\u00e9clares que la fa\u00e7on de jouer sur sc\u00e8ne est plus intense qu’avant, pourquoi ?<\/b><\/p>\n
Alissa : <\/b>Je suppose que nous voulions juste refl\u00e9ter ce pourquoi nous avions fait l\u2019album. Donc pour \u00eatre compl\u00e8tement honn\u00eate, il n y a rien \u00e0 cacher. Cet album a \u00e9t\u00e9 emmerdant \u00e0 enregistrer, et si on a l\u2019air de souffrir quand nous jouons sur sc\u00e8ne, c\u2019est afin que le public puisse r\u00e9ellement exp\u00e9rimenter ce qu’\u00e9tait de faire cet album et ce que c\u2019est de l\u2019interpr\u00e9ter.<\/p>\n
ANR : As-tu d\u2019autre fa\u00e7on de t exprimer artistiquement que la musique ?<\/b><\/p>\n
Alissa : <\/b>D’autres qui viennent avant la musique, certainement. Je peins. J\u2019ai fait \u00e7a pendant tr\u00e8s longtemps. Artistiquement j\u2019ai fait du slam. Peindre, dessiner and le stylisme plus que tout autre chose. La mode est un de mes int\u00e9r\u00eats. Ce sont tous les diff\u00e9rents moyens de m’exprimer artistiquement. Parler publiquement aussi. Bien que ce ne soit pas exactement artistique. Pas toujours, mais parfois \u00e7a l’est. Ce sont mes premi\u00e8res amours.<\/p>\n

ANR : How did the band started back in Quebec?<\/b><\/p>\n
Alissa : <\/b>In 2004, Danny and Kells were in another band together, they needed a singer, I joined. In 2006,
\nwe kicked out the drummer we had and got Simon in there. In about 2010, we brought Paco in.
\nWe released our first album in 2007, and that was an album we had basically written just to play
\nshows, and it was really easy to record because all of it was already well-rehearsed from playing
\nshows on it for so many years. We were called The Tempest at first and then we changed our
\nname to the Agonist when we got signed, and that was it.<\/p>\n
ANR : Would you describe \u00ab\u00a0Prisoners\u00a0\u00bb as a continuation of \u00ab\u00a0Lullabies for the Dormant Mind\u00a0\u00bb?<\/b><\/p>\n
Alissa : <\/b>Yeah, I think so. For my personal tastes, I would\u2019ve been happy to do Lullabies all over again,
\nbecause that was really my taste. I think you need more patience to listen to Prisoners, which I
\ndon\u2019t have, so I think that\u2019s why it was frustrating to record. But it\u2019s an evolution. It\u2019s not the
\nsame album again, it\u2019s a different album.<\/p>\n
ANR : Tell us more about the subjects going on in this album.<\/b><\/p>\n
Alissa : <\/b>It\u2019s a lot more introverted than my previous albums. I still obviously have the topics that I
\ncare about, because they\u2019re a part of me. There\u2019s obviously a lot of protection of the earth and
\nprotection of animals in there, but there are also different sorts of philosophical concepts that
\nI delve into, and I really thought about mind versus matter. The human mind versus society.
\nThere\u2019s a lot of introverted and extroverted and interest in human beings. A lot of the lyrics
\nprobably don\u2019t mention it, but you could probably read them many times and get new things out
\nof it every time.<\/p>\n
ANR : You declare that the way you act on stage is more intense than before, why?<\/b><\/p>\n
Alissa : <\/b>I guess we just wanted to sort of reflect what making this album was. So, to be completely
\nhonest, there\u2019s nothing hidden. This album was a pain in the ass to record, and if we look like
\nwe\u2019re in pain on stage when we\u2019re performing it, that\u2019s so the audience can really experience
\nwhat making the album was and what performing the album is.<\/p>\n
ANR : Do you have any other way to artistically express yourself than music?<\/b><\/p>\n
Alissa : <\/b>Others that come before music, sure. I paint. I\u2019ve done that for a long time. Artistically, I\u2019ve
\ndone spoken-word poetry things. Painting, drawing, and designing, more than anything else.
\nAnd fashion is of interest to me. Those are all different ways I artistically express myself. Public
\nspeaking, too. Although that\u2019s not exactly artistic. Not always, but sometimes it is. Those are my
