Certains albums peuvent se r\u00e9v\u00e9ler \u00eatre des \u00e9preuves pour la fille de hippies que je suis. Ainsi \u00ab\u00a0Rise to Infamy\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0: d\u00e8s la pochette, je me doute que le message d\u00e9livr\u00e9 par Cowards ne m\u2019\u00e9pargnera pas. On y voit une femme prise \u00e0 la gorge, sur le point d\u2019\u00eatre malmen\u00e9e, m\u00eame si l\u2019on ne distingue pas clairement ce que tient son agresseur (un cordon pour l\u2019\u00e9trangler, une lame de rasoir pour l\u2019\u00e9gorger\u00a0?). Vient ensuite l\u2019\u00e9coute des 10 titres de l\u2019album, parmi lesquels \u00ab\u00a0Never to Shine\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0Low esteem\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0Wish for Infamy\u00a0\u00bb ou \u00ab\u00a0Birth of the Sadistic Son\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0: pour r\u00e9sumer le th\u00e8me principal de l\u2019album\u00a0: la d\u00e9testation, le d\u00e9go\u00fbt. En termes de genre musical, le groupe parisien se classe dans le Hardcore, option \u00ab\u00a0Je hais le monde entier autant que moi-m\u00eame\u00a0\u00bb. Il s\u2019agit donc de faire mal\u00a0: distorsion et saturation d\u00e8s les premi\u00e8res notes. Ils l\u2019avouent eux-m\u00eames\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0Tout a \u00e9t\u00e9 pouss\u00e9 au maximum pour infliger un maximum de d\u00e9g\u00e2t auditif\u00a0\u00bb. Et c\u2019est r\u00e9ussi\u00a0: l\u2019\u00e9coute est presque insupportable, brutale. On en ressort avec l\u2019impression d\u2019avoir psychanalys\u00e9 un psychopathe d\u00e9pressif, suicidaire.
\nParce qu\u2019il provoque des sensations fortes bien qu\u2019\u00e0 la limite du soutenable, c\u2019est un album impressionnant, une grande claque de haine froide et m\u00e9tallique. Et m\u00eame si j\u2019applaudis la fa\u00e7on tr\u00e8s r\u00e9ussie de communiquer \u00e0 l\u2019auditoire sa haine immense, je ne peux m\u2019emp\u00eacher de pr\u00e9venir\u00a0: on ne sort pas indemne de l\u2019\u00e9coute de \u00ab\u00a0Rise to Infamy\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
