Les papys du heavy nous g\u00e2tent en 2013 avec un coffret contenant du neuf\u00a0 : \u00ab\u00a0Unplugged and Strunged up\u00a0\u00bb et de l&rsquo;ancien : \u00ab\u00a0Heavy Metal Thunder\u00a0\u00bb, enregistr\u00e9 en 2002.<\/p>\n<p>C&rsquo;est un peu Dr Jekyll et Mr Hyde, ce coffret. Et on commence par le c\u00f4t\u00e9 obscur de la force, parce que, finalement, c&rsquo;est celui qu&rsquo;on connait le mieux. On est \u00e0 l&rsquo;aise avec ce Tonnerrre du heavy metal. C&rsquo;est en effet un grand classique\u00a0 des rockeurs britanniques, une compilation qui regroupe 13 titres parmi leurs plus c\u00e9l\u00e8bres comme \u00ab\u00a0Crusader\u00a0\u00bb ou \u00ab\u00a0Princess of the Night\u00a0\u00bb. C&rsquo;est homog\u00e8ne, r\u00e9gulier et on retrouve ce bon gros son des ann\u00e9es 80, l&rsquo;\u00e2ge d&rsquo;or du Heavy metal. Et de Saxon aussi, d&rsquo;ailleurs.<\/p>\n<p>Mais ce qui va surprendre -et sans doute r\u00e9jouir- les fans, c&rsquo;est l&rsquo;autre album, \u00ab\u00a0Unplugged and Strunged Up\u00a0\u00bb. Voil\u00e0 une facette du groupe que l&rsquo;on connait moins. Un aspect plus soft et plus d\u00e9licat. Un peu de douceur apr\u00e8s l\u2019assommante baffe du disque pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent.<\/p>\n<p>C&rsquo;est aussi une compilation, mais plus vari\u00e9e. Quelques in\u00e9dits, des titres r\u00e9arrang\u00e9s, mix\u00e9s ou r\u00e9enregistr\u00e9s pour l&rsquo;occasion comme le fameux \u00ab\u00a0Crusader\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0Red Star Falling\u00a0\u00bb ou encore une version acoustique tr\u00e8s r\u00e9ussie de \u00ab\u00a0Frozen Rainbow\u00a0\u00bb et surtout de \u00ab\u00a0Requiem\u00a0\u00bb. Car m\u00eame si vous n&rsquo;aimez pas Saxon, impossible de ne pas \u00eatre touch\u00e9 par la voix de Biff Byford sur ce morceau aux accents folk.<\/p>\n<p>Un r\u00e9gal pour les fans, cet album est aussi une excellente fa\u00e7on d&rsquo;aborder le groupe pour les jeunes rockeurs qui le le conna\u00eetraient pas.
