Cr\u00e9e en 1988 \u00e0 Dortmund par Robert Kampf (le chanteur du groupe Despair) la petite entreprise n\u2019a gu\u00e8re connu la disette, accompagnant l\u2019essor de groupes fameux, et poss\u00e9dant aujourd&rsquo;hui encore un cheptel d\u2019artistes metal de renom, entre autres : Arch Enemy, Asphyx, At the Gates, Body Count, Dark Tranquillity, Havok, Lacuna Coil, Wolves in the Throne Room, et elle vient de signer les prometteurs Venom Prison (NDA : liste arr\u00eat\u00e9e au seul crit\u00e8re du favoritisme sur une centaine de formations). Pour cette raison, la curiosit\u00e9 du chroniqueur fut piqu\u00e9e au rouge vif \u00e0 la lecture de la sortie prochaine sur ce label d\u2019un album de \u00ab grunge stoner \u00bb, d\u2019un jeune combo d\u00e9nomm\u00e9 Bala. Du \u00ab grunge stoner \u00bb\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Ce troisi\u00e8me LP (et premier chez CMR) est intitul\u00e9 \u00ab Maleza \u00bb, et Bala est un duo galicien compos\u00e9 d\u2019Anxela Baltar (chant \/ guitare) et de Violeta Mosquera (chant \/ batterie), deux ib\u00e9riques dont on sent \u00e0 naseaux pleins les regrets de ne pas \u00eatre venues au monde vingt ans plus t\u00f4t (nous allons y venir\u2026). Outre la pratique du genre tel que revendiqu\u00e9e, davantage que l\u2019origine g\u00e9ographique, et nonobstant un cv sc\u00e9nique d\u00e9j\u00e0 flatteur (pl\u00e9thore de festivals stoners en compagnie de Brant Bjork ou de God is an Astronaut, participation au Resurrection Fest 2017 chez elles \u00e0 Viveiro, ainsi qu\u2019au Rock al Parque 2018 de Bogota) c\u2019est \u00e9galement le nombre de membres qui attire l\u2019attention : une paire. Comme Suicide, les White Stripes, The Kills, plus r\u00e9cemment Slaves, ou plus confidentiellement les bordelais bruitistes de D\u00e8che dans face (premi\u00e8re partie de Sloy \u00e0 l\u2019Arapaho en 1996).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Le faisceau d\u2019indices des deux paragraphes pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents ne pouvait pas induire en erreur : \u00ab Maleza \u00bb compulse le meilleur du grunge premi\u00e8re mouture (ann\u00e9es 1991-1993) mis en valeur par une production actuelle, du Butch Vig pour mill\u00e9niaux (Ultramarinos Studios, Barcelona). Nous avons affaire \u00e0 neuf carnages d&rsquo;excellente facture : \u00ab Agitar \u00bb, riff martial puis ligne ent\u00eatante \u00e0 la Melvins ; \u00ab Hoy no \u00bb, alternance de beuglements et de chantonnements latinos limite ang\u00e9liques ; le vindicatif \u00ab\u00a0 X \u00bb, aux relents RATM ; \u00ab Cien Obst\u00e1culos \u00bb et\u00a0 \u00ab Quieres Entrar \u00bb, des mont\u00e9es et descentes dignes des premiers Soundgarden ; \u00ab Mi Orden \u00bb\u00a0 et \u00ab Rituais \u00bb, chant lancinant (Hole) sur boucle de gratte disto et pa-poum de batterie (compl\u00e8tement L7) ; \u00ab Bessie \u00bb, du calibre d\u2019une chute de studio d\u2019\u00ab In Utero \u00bb (carr\u00e9ment !) ; \u00ab Una Selva \u00bb, enfin, une hyst\u00e9rie vocif\u00e9r\u00e9e fa\u00e7on Babes in Toyland (ou la Courtney des d\u00e9buts).
