Une apparence avenante et appr\u00eat\u00e9e (fabriqu\u00e9e ?), une formation aux contours mouvants, aucun morceau notable \u00e0 l\u2019actif (hormis une reprise du \u00ab Holy Diver \u00bb de Dio, circulant en diff\u00e9rentes captations publiques sur YouTube) ainsi que la lourde main de Schmier au-dessus de l\u2019entreprise y \u00e9taient probablement pour quelque chose\u2026 \u00ab The Witch Of The North \u00bb, leur quatri\u00e8me et double album va certainement faire bouger les lignes et salutairement \u00e9voluer les avis. Certes, le propos demeure aussi original qu\u2019un tandoori m\u00e9tro La Chapelle. Du <em>power metal<\/em> dont les plans ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 entendus, rab\u00e2ch\u00e9s presque \u00e9cul\u00e9s. Mais le r\u00e9sultat obtenu s\u2019av\u00e8re paradoxalement de bonne tenue, et jouissif, tant l\u2019imbrication desdits plans semble judicieuse. Et puis, originalit\u00e9 et <em>power metal<\/em> font lits s\u00e9par\u00e9s, c\u2019est m\u00eame inh\u00e9rent au genre\u00a0: le fan veut entendre du <em>power metal<\/em> non le prochain concept-album post-pr\u00e9-futuriste de Devin Townsend ou d\u2019avant-gardistes chutes de studio de Mr. Bungle. Nos jeunes sorci\u00e8res sont manifestement pass\u00e9es ma\u00eetresses en la mati\u00e8re, et le d\u00e9montrent en treize confections (plus \u00ab Hall of the Mountain King \u00bb de Savatage en <em>bonus<\/em>, en lieu et place d&rsquo;une reprise de Saxon initialement pr\u00e9vue) lesquelles trahissent un diffus regret pour leurs autrices de ne pas \u00eatre n\u00e9es une ou un deux d\u00e9cennies plus t\u00f4t.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Le m\u00e9di\u00e9val \u00ab Winter Wrath\u2019s \u00bb ouvre la procession septentrionale, une courte comptine aux guitares Ritchie Blackmoresques sur fond de chants gr\u00e9goriens (fa\u00e7on \u00ab Supertzar \u00bb), laquelle s\u2019encha\u00eene sur les \u00e9piques (NDA : le mot \u00ab \u00e9pique \u00bb ne sera plus utilis\u00e9 en cette chronique afin d\u2019\u00e9viter les r\u00e9p\u00e9titions) \u00ab The Witch of the North \u00bb et \u00ab Tainted Ritual \u00bb. Les temps forts de ce tr\u00e9pidant banquet sont le magnifique \u00ab We Stand at One \u00bb, le meilleur hymne de Judas Priest depuis \u00ab The Hell Patrol \u00bb ; \u00ab Flight of the Walkyrie \u00bb, la meilleure cavalcade rythmique de Maiden entendue depuis longtemps ; et \u00ab The Circle of Five \u00bb, la meilleure braillerie de Rob Halford depuis au moins \u00ab Painkiller \u00bb\u2026 Dont le troisi\u00e8me couplet s\u2019ach\u00e8ve d\u2019ailleurs sur les mots \u00ab All Guns Blazing \u00bb, soit le titre du troisi\u00e8me morceau de \u00ab Painkiller \u00bb (CQFD).
