Le premier \u00e9tant que la cr\u00e9ation BM hexagonale se porte toujours \u00e0 merveille en ce d\u00e9but de d\u00e9cennie, et que le style demeure vivace depuis son acclimatation en nos latitudes temp\u00e9r\u00e9es au mitan des ann\u00e9es 1990. Le deuxi\u00e8me est qu\u2019il n\u2019existe pas un BM mais des BM, le genre s\u2019\u00e9tant depuis scind\u00e9 en plusieurs sous-cat\u00e9gories, lesquelles ne captivant plus forc\u00e9ment un uniforme auditoire. Le troisi\u00e8me faisant \u00e9tat de ce que le metal, entendu en r\u00e8gle g\u00e9n\u00e9rale toutes ob\u00e9diences confondues, et la science-fiction communiquent par des passerelles th\u00e9matiques.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Sol Draconi Septem (SDS) est donc une formation fran\u00e7aise constitu\u00e9e en 2018 de trois membres aux surnoms aussi courts qu\u2019un week-end de juin : Muon (composition), Tauon (percussions) et Kaon (sons \u00e9lectroniques et cuivres). Mais aux id\u00e9es aussi longues qu\u2019une ann\u00e9e sans concerts. Ledit <em>triumvirat<\/em> s\u2019est adjoint les services d\u2019autres compatriotes (et \/ ou francophones) : tout d\u2019abord de Sven, qui officie au sein des pagans bretonnants de Belenos et Tan Kozh, et qui s\u2019est occup\u00e9 des lignes de basses, du mixage ainsi que du <em>mastering<\/em>\u00a0; du prolifique helv\u00e8te Bornyhake (de Borgne)\u00a0; de A.K. (de Merrimack et de Decline of the I.)\u00a0; ou encore du conteur m\u00e9di\u00e9valiste et fantastique Quentin Foureau.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Initialement pens\u00e9 comme BM \u00ab atmosph\u00e9rique \u00bb, le projet a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9orient\u00e9 vers un BM \u00ab m\u00e9lodique \u00bb ou \u00ab symphonique \u00bb, \u00e9voquant parfois Wolves in the Throne Room. En plus avant-gardiste encore. \u00ab Hyperion \u00bb fourmille ainsi d\u2019id\u00e9es novatrices d\u00e9passant largement les th\u00e9matiques traditionnelles du genre, ainsi que la conception que le profane (ainsi que l\u2019initi\u00e9) peut s\u2019en faire. L\u2019on retiendra notamment l&rsquo;apport d\u2019un saxo, n\u2019intervenant que ponctuellement et se fondant \u00e0 dessein dans l\u2019orchestration. Certains passages sonnent en outre krautrock, telles les premi\u00e8res dizaines de secondes de l\u2019inaugural \u00ab The Man who Cried God \u00bb, faisant penser \u00e0 l\u2019industriel \u00ab V\u20132 Schneider \u00bb d\u2019un certain David B..<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u00ab Hyperion \u00bb a pour unique sujet \u00ab The Hyperion Cantos \u00bb, un space-opera narr\u00e9 dans quatre romans publi\u00e9s entre 1989 et 1998 par l\u2019am\u00e9ricain Dan Simmons. Par pur hasard, cette attractive somme se trouve aussi au centre du deuxi\u00e8me album du groupe de metal prog Wheel, commercialis\u00e9 le 26 mars prochain (papier \u00e0 lire en ce webzine)\u2026 Car depuis au moins Black Sabbath, metal et science-fiction (on n\u2019ose plus \u00e9crire \u00ab futurisme \u00bb, le futur faisant d\u00e9sormais flipper\u2026) sont copains comme cochons dans l\u2019espace, les mots et l\u2019esth\u00e9tique du second irriguant \u00e0 flots tendus d\u2019enti\u00e8res branches du premier (le power-metal).
