Art\u2019N\u2019Roll\u00a0: Salut, je t\u2019ai donn\u00e9 la traduction fran\u00e7aise du compte-rendu du concert que vous avez donn\u00e9 \u00e0 Paris en mars dernier\u2026 As-tu des souvenirs de ce show, d\u00e9livr\u00e9 sur ce bateau arrim\u00e9 en face de la Biblioth\u00e8que nationale (NDA\u00a0: on aura reconnu le Petit bain, dans le 13e <\/sup>arrondissement) ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tony \u00ab Demolition Man \u00bb Dolan :<\/strong> Jouer \u00e0 Paris est toujours une chose fantastique. Mais jouer sur ce bateau sur la Seine f\u00fbt extraordinairement fantastique, dans une salle pleine \u00e0 craquer et devant un public super r\u00e9ceptif\u2026<\/p>\n

ANR\u00a0: C\u2019\u00e9tait effectivement une soir\u00e9e des plus passionnantes, avec pas moins de cinq groupes\u00a0: Suffocation, Nervosa, Aeternam, Survive et vous\u2026 Sais-tu qui a choisi ce superbe Line up ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

TD : <\/strong>Merci beaucoup ! C\u2019est moi qui ai choisi les groupes. Suffocation est un groupe formidable et un de mes pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9s du genre, ce premier choix f\u00fbt donc facile. Survive, qui nous viennent du Japon sont \u00e9galement exceptionnels, tout comme les int\u00e9ressants Aeternam qui sont eux du Qu\u00e9bec, pareil pour les br\u00e9siliennes de Nervosa, un trio tr\u00e8s sp\u00e9cial… Ce que j\u2019ai voulu d\u00e9montrer est l\u2019incroyable diversit\u00e9 de ce que nous appelons le \u00ab\u00a0Metal\u00a0\u00bb, mais \u00e9galement de faire jouer avec nous des artistes d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui provenant du Monde entier, de montrer comment la musique parle \u00e0 chacun en d\u00e9pit des barri\u00e8res de langage ou politiques, d\u2019exposer la beaut\u00e9 ainsi que la richesse de notre sc\u00e8ne musicale, et enfin de prouver \u00e0 quel point \u00ab\u00a0l\u2019Underground\u00a0\u00bb peut \u00eatre fertile et important, et le sera toujours. J\u2019appr\u00e9cie et trouve syst\u00e9matiquement incroyable l\u2019accueil puis l\u2019appui que les fans donnent \u00e0 des groupes d\u00e9butants.<\/p>\n

ANR : Je me souviens t\u2019avoir crois\u00e9 sur le pont du bateau avant ce concert, tu quittais le restaurant en surv\u00eatement, en souriant et en plaisantant avec moi. De m\u00eame, tu souris continuellement quand tu es sur sc\u00e8ne. J\u2019ai aussi constat\u00e9 que ton compte Facebook est gav\u00e9 de blagues, de Memes, et d\u2019autres trucs rigolos\u2026 Est-ce qu\u2019\u00eatre content est d\u00e9finitivement une part de ton attitude ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

TD :<\/strong> Non, je suis en fait un maniaco-d\u00e9pressif doubl\u00e9 d\u2019un mis\u00e9rable b\u00e2tard\u00a0!!!! Ha ha ha ! Mon opinion que nous sommes ici pour un laps de temps bien d\u00e9termin\u00e9\u2026 Beaucoup de luttes et de choses de la vie peuvent nous briser si nous les laissons faire. C\u2019est ainsi fait, beaucoup de gens n\u2019ont pas, par exemple, choisi leur travail, leur fa\u00e7on de subsister… Bien entendu, il n\u2019y a aucune honte \u00e0 faire vivre et \u00e0 soutenir votre famille, ou d\u2019assumer vos responsabilit\u00e9s. Mais j\u2019ai conscience que je poss\u00e8de cette chance de pouvoir voyager et de rencontrer des gens partout sur cette plan\u00e8te en jouant la musique que j\u2019aime, raison pour laquelle je suis toujours humble et reconnaissant, j\u2019essaie donc de rester positif et de garder mes pieds fermement ancr\u00e9s dans la r\u00e9alit\u00e9\u2026 Du coup je m\u2019amuse \u00e0 faire ce que j\u2019aime, alors que la vie peut \u00eatre si grise pour nous parfois… J\u2019essaie en d\u00e9finitive de conserver ce lien avec les gens en souriant, et j\u2019esp\u00e8re en retour les convaincre d\u2019\u00eatre souriants\u2026<\/p>\n

ANR : Prika Amaral de Nervosa m\u2019a confi\u00e9 que l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re tout au long de cette tourn\u00e9e collective \u00e9tait amicale et chaleureuse, elle \u00e9tait tr\u00e8s contente de pouvoir voyager avec vous. ET toi, as-tu quelque chose \u00e0 nous dire sur le fait d\u2019\u00eatre sur la route avec Nervosa ? <\/strong><\/p>\n

TD :<\/strong> C\u2019est un groupe de superbes musiciennes, et de personnes elles-aussi chaleureuses et gentilles ! Durant cette tourn\u00e9e, chaque groupe se pr\u00e9occupait de l\u2019autre, et nous nous soutenions tous les uns les autres. J\u2019ai choisi d\u2019amener Nervosa en tourn\u00e9e avec nous parce que j\u2019aime ce qu\u2019elles font et je voulais que nos fans puissent les d\u00e9couvrir, j\u2019adore passer du temps \u00e0 les \u00e9couter Live et \u00eatre en leur compagnie. Elles font montre d\u2019une grande \u00e9nergie et sont de grandes femmes\u2026<\/p>\n

ANR : Tu as jou\u00e9 solo au Japon en d\u00e9cembre dernier, accompagn\u00e9 par des musiciens locaux (Mirai Kawashima, Nemo, Akira\u2026), peux-tu s\u2019il te pla\u00eet nous dire quelques mots \u00e0 propos de ce voyage hivernal ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

TD :<\/strong> Ah oui… Et je le referai en 2019, voire au-del\u00e0… C\u2019est toujours un grand plaisir d\u2019\u00eatre au Japon, o\u00f9 je me sens comme chez moi et o\u00f9 j\u2019ai beaucoup d\u2019amis ainsi que des fans incroyables. Ce dernier voyage a \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s sp\u00e9cial\u2026 Tant de grands artistes japonais se sont joints \u00e0 moi, et nous avons jou\u00e9 de la bonne musique de Venom, de Metallica, de Mot\u00f6rhead et m\u00eame de Saxon\u2026<\/p>\n

ANR : Apr\u00e8s avoir effectu\u00e9 une tourn\u00e9e nord-am\u00e9ricaine l\u2019automne dernier, vous vous produirez en f\u00e9vrier prochain en Am\u00e9rique du Sud, dans treize villes diff\u00e9rentes, \u00e0 l\u2019occasion du \u00ab Av\u00e9 Latin America Tour 2019 \u00bb. J\u2019ai lu et vu ici et l\u00e0 sur les r\u00e9seaux sociaux que les metalleux sud-am\u00e9ricains meurent litt\u00e9ralement d\u2019envie de pouvoir admirer Venom Inc. sur sc\u00e8ne chez eux. Quel est ton \u00e9tat d\u2019esprit avant de partir pour cette tourn\u00e9e en Am\u00e9rique du Sud ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

TD :<\/strong> Cela fait quelques ann\u00e9es que nous ne sommes pas all\u00e9s nous produire en Am\u00e9rique du Sud, et nous n\u2019avions pas \u00e9t\u00e9 jusque-l\u00e0 en mesure de jouer partout. Alors cette fois-ci, et m\u00eame s\u2019il est une fois encore impossible d\u2019obtenir tous les endroits voulus, j\u2019ai r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 \u00e9largir la tourn\u00e9e afin de nous rendre dans des pays que nous n\u2019avions pas visit\u00e9s. A tr\u00e8s peu d\u2019exceptions pr\u00e8s, nous pouvons vraiment dire que, cette fois, nous voyagerons dans toute l\u2019Am\u00e9rique du Sud, et presque int\u00e9gralement. Nous allons pouvoir entrer en contact avec des fans qui, sans cela, n\u2019auraient peut-\u00eatre pas pu se rendre sur place ou se permettre de nous voir ! Nous allons \u00e9galement profiter de paysages, d\u2019aliments, de cultures ainsi que de de gens incroyables\u2026 Que demander de plus ?!? Rien !!!<\/p>\n

ANR : Est-ce que Jeff \u00ab Mantas \u00bb Dunn est \u00e0 nouveau op\u00e9rationnel, \u00e0 l\u2019issue de sa convalescence, cons\u00e9cutive \u00e0 son op\u00e9ration \u00e0 c\u0153ur ouvert en mai dernier ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

TD : <\/strong>Il fait de son mieux. Mourir n\u2019est pas facile, on s\u2019en doute, mais il me semble que les chirurgiens l\u2019ont sauv\u00e9 de la mort, je les en remercie, et je suis content parce que c\u2019est mon fr\u00e8re et que je l\u2019aime\u2026 Il est plus fort, et je dirais m\u00eame en meilleure sant\u00e9 qu\u2019avant, car Mantas souffrait sans s\u2019en rendre compte depuis si longtemps… Quand vous le voyez maintenant sur sc\u00e8ne, vous constatez qu\u2019il vient de d\u00e9marrer une nouvelle existence, pourvu d\u2019une \u00e9nergie et d\u2019un regard neufs… Vivez pour l\u2019instant !!! Tout cela peut dispara\u00eetre en un instant…<\/p>\n

ANR : La France aura une fois de plus le plaisir de vous voir, \u00e0 Clisson le vendredi 21 juin, lors du premier jour du Hellfest 2019\u2026 Ce moment sera-t-il sp\u00e9cial pour vous ? <\/strong><\/p>\n

TD : <\/strong>Oh, \u00e7a d\u00e9passe les mots !!! Nous avons eu successivement l\u2019honneur de nous produire aux festivals Bloodstock, Alcatraz et Porispere (NDA\u00a0: Porispere est un festival estival finlandais)<\/strong> en 2018, et ensuite au WACKEN, puis d\u00e9sormais au HELLFEST. L\u2019annonce de notre programmation l\u00e0-bas en novembre dernier f\u00fbt \u00e0 mon sens une incroyable fa\u00e7on de finir l\u2019ann\u00e9e 2018, probablement la meilleure fin concevable\u00a0! Je n\u2019ai donc pas assez de mots pour d\u00e9crire le bonheur de jouer au Hellfest 2019 !<\/p>\n

ANR : Mon ressenti, apr\u00e8s vous avoir vu jouer sur sc\u00e8ne en mars dernier, est que Venom Inc. serait finalement un authentique groupe de Rock\u2019n\u2019Roll, dot\u00e9 d\u2019une attitude Punky, avec une approche typiquement britannique, non un \u00e9ni\u00e8me groupe de Black Metal. Es-tu d\u2019accord ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

TD : <\/strong>Je suis d\u2019accord ! J\u2019\u00e9tais d\u2019abord un punk, et cela se ressens aujourd\u2019hui dans ma musique… Le style de Mantas, lorsqu\u2019il joue de sa guitare sans distorsion, est purement Rock\u2019n\u2019Roll\u2026 Notre passion est d\u2019essence Punk… A laquelle s\u2019ajoutent notre exp\u00e9rience ainsi que notre style de jeu, tout cela cr\u00e9\u00e9 une v\u00e9ritable sensation Rock\u2019n\u2019roll… Venom Inc. est lourd et sombre, bien s\u00fbr, mais c\u2019est fondamentalement afin de demeurer fid\u00e8les \u00e0 qui nous sommes, notre image.<\/p>\n

TD : <\/strong>Cette question est trop dure\u2026 Nous avons trop de bon mat\u00e9riel pour que je tranche comme cela\u2026 Il y en aurait plusieurs\u00a0: \u00ab WAR \u00bb, \u00ab METAL WE BLEED \u00bb, \u00ab AVE SATANAS \u00bb, mais aussi \u00ab 1000 Days in Sodom \u00bb, \u00ab Blackened are the Priests \u00bb, \u00ab Live Like an Angel \u00bb, \u00ab Poison \u00bb, je ressens ces titres plus que les autres !<\/p>\n

ANR : Sur sc\u00e8ne, Venom Inc. n\u2019effectue pas beaucoup de reprises d\u2019autres groupes\u2026 Je suppose que vous aimez quand-m\u00eame reprendre vos morceaux et artistes pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9s. Quelles sont les chansons que vous aimez faire (en studio en enregistrant par exemple) ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

TD : <\/strong>Non, c\u2019est vrai\u2026 Ah, il y a toujours Mot\u00f6rhead pour le plaisir, ou les classiques de Judas Priest\u2026 Surtout les trucs rapides… Contrairement \u00e0 moi, Mantas n\u2019est pas sp\u00e9cialement branch\u00e9 Thrash Metal, donc quand je veux faire des reprises des groupes de ce genre je prends la guitare pour d\u00e9conner. Sinon nous aimons tous les deux le Metal classique, notre influence commune…<\/p>\n

ANR : Justement, quelles sont tes influences musicales ? Les groupes ainsi que les artistes que tu aimes le plus ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

TD : <\/strong>Mot\u00f6rhead… The Dickies\u2026 A la basse ? Lemmy, Geddy Lee, Billy Sheenan… Geezer Butler. Les groupes que j\u2019aime ? Slayer, Rammstein, Metallica, Immortal, Destruction, Master, Backwater, Bathory, Obituary, Malevolent Creation, Exumer, et plus d\u2019un million d\u2019autres !!! Et pour ce concerne les plus r\u00e9cents : Dustbolt, Power Trip, Nervosa, Nervo Chaos, No Raza, Ultra Violence, Rezet\u2026<\/p>\n

ANR : Tu es \u00e9videmment un grand Fan de Mot\u00f6rhead. Leur style semble avoir d\u00e9teint sur le v\u00f4tre, notamment du point de vue du son et de l’attitude. J’ai aussi vu que tu as rencontr\u00e9 Lemmy \u00e0 plusieurs reprises\u2026 Lemmy qui est une l\u00e9gende incontestable ici en France : un mot ou deux \u00e0 propos de lui ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

TD :<\/strong> Je suis un grand Fan de Lemmy, et je n\u2019ai aucune honte \u00e0 affirmer que je le porte avec moi \u00e0 chaque concert depuis sa mort ! Je sirote mon Jack Daniel\u2019s Coca Coke avant le Show, je porte fi\u00e8rement mon pendentif Snaggletooth (NDA\u00a0: pour les profanes, la mascotte de Mot\u00f6rhead) <\/strong>autour du cou, et mon microphone est positionn\u00e9 sur son pied en hauteur par rapport \u00e0 ma bouche comme Lemmy le positionnait. Tout cela, depuis le jour o\u00f9 appris son d\u00e9c\u00e8s en 2015… Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 la raison pour laquelle j\u2019ai embrass\u00e9 cette carri\u00e8re… Je souhaite en retour lui d\u00e9dier, \u00e0 ma fa\u00e7on, chacune de mes performances Live… Uniquement pour saluer sa m\u00e9moire. Il m\u2019a inspir\u00e9, et m\u2019inspire encore et toujours… ainsi que tous ceux qu\u2019il a rencontr\u00e9s d\u2019ailleurs… C\u2019est une chose tr\u00e8s personnelle pour moi, bien s\u00fbr. ANR : Tu as tourn\u00e9 dans des films (NDA : par exemple <\/strong>\u00ab <\/strong>Master and Commander : The Far Side of the World<\/strong>\u00a0\u00bb \/ \u00ab\u00a0Master and Commander : De l’autre c\u00f4t\u00e9 du monde\u00a0\u00bb en VF, en <\/strong>2003), quels sont tes actrices \/ acteurs pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9s ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

TD :<\/strong> J\u2019ai fait quelques films et de la t\u00e9l\u00e9, oui. C\u2019est difficile de r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 ta question, parce que j\u2019ai eu la chance de rencontrer puis \u00e9galement de travailler avec des actrices et des acteurs r\u00e9put\u00e9s et tr\u00e8s brillants. Je pense que Dame Maggie Smith est une actrice incroyable, tout comme Dame Helen Mirrem\u2026 Et Sir Ian Mckellen ainsi qu\u2019Anthony Hopkins sont des acteurs d\u2019un niveau \u00e9lev\u00e9\u2026 Pour ce qui concerne les ricains, Robert De Niro et Tom Hanks sont \u00e9galement des acteurs incroyables.<\/p>\n

ANR : Et pour ce qui est de tes acteurs fran\u00e7ais ? Ou films ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

TD : <\/strong>Ha ha !!! Mon regrett\u00e9 Beau-P\u00e8re m\u2019a fait d\u00e9couvrir l\u2019exceptionnel Jacques Tati, qui selon moi n\u2019a jamais \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9pass\u00e9 depuis… Regarde \u00ab Les Vacances de Monsieur Hulot \u00bb afin de t\u2019en convaincre ! Bien entendu, comme tous les gars de ma g\u00e9n\u00e9ration je deviens chaud d\u00e8s que je vois Brigitte Bardot, mais aussi Catherine Deneuve !!! Wow ! Un jour, \u00e0 la Royal Shakespeare Company, Simon Callow (qui est un acteur britannique British c\u00e9l\u00e8bre) a dirig\u00e9 \u00ab Les Enfants Du Paradis \u00bb de Marcel Carm\u00e9\u2026 Son adaptation au th\u00e9\u00e2tre a dur\u00e9 pas moins de quatre heures, version aussi longue que l\u2019originale car il ne voulait pas la d\u00e9naturer en la raccourcissant ha ha ha ! J\u2019ai d\u00e9test\u00e9, avant de tomber amoureux de ce remarquable film\u2026<\/p>\n

ANR\u00a0: Quelle serait la personnalit\u00e9 \/ c\u00e9l\u00e9brit\u00e9 anglaise que tu pr\u00e9f\u00e8res, tous champs confondus ? <\/strong>Winston Churchill ? Richard III ? Lemmy Kilmister ? Steve Jones ? Rowan Atkinson ? <\/strong>Ou toute autre personne\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

TD :<\/strong> Je dirais Richard III et Isambard Kingdom Brunel\u2026 Le premier parce que j\u2019adore Shakespeare, que Richard III est mon personnage pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9, et qu\u2019il s\u2019agit \u00e9galement d\u2019une figure historique fascinante mais \u00e0 la post\u00e9rit\u00e9 mal comprise\u2026 Brunel parce que je suis tout comme lui un ing\u00e9nieur\u2026 Bien qu\u2019il ne soit pas un ing\u00e9nieur \u00ab civil \u00bb, ses constructions, sa r\u00e9ussite ainsi que son esprit d\u2019ing\u00e9nierie te laissent sans voix…<\/p>\n

TD : <\/strong>Thank you so much! I chose the bands. Suffocation are a fantastic band and one of my very favorite in the genre so it was an easy choice. Survive from Japan are exceptional along with Aeternam from Quebec are so interesting and diverse and then Nervosa from Brazil are a very special trio… What I wanted to do was show not only the incredible diversity in what we know as Metal today, but also bring international bands from one side of the world to the other together to show not only the great musicianship and songwriting but how our music speaks to everyone regardless of language barriers or politics, and expose also how rich and superb the current music scene is and how there are great bands coming through and how fertile and important the underground is and always will be… It’s always quite strange to me how bands starting out crave support and acknowledgement by possible fans then when they make it…look down on the same fans who still \u00ab support \u00bb them and on younger bands attempting to do what they themselves did.<\/p>\n

ANR : I remember you before the gig, you were leaving the restaurant wearing sweat pants, smiling and joking. During the show, you were always smiling. Your Facebook page is full of jokes and another funny things\u2026 Is being happy is definitely a part of your attitude ? <\/strong><\/p>\n

TD :<\/strong> No, I’m a manic depressive and miserable bastard !!!! Ha ha ha ! I think, we are only here for a moment in time… Have many struggles and things that can break us if we allow them to. Many people work at things they hate but feel they must to survive… there is no shame in supporting your family or responsibilities, but I think I am fortunate to travel and meet people all over this planet playing music I love and for that I am always humbled and grateful and I try to stay positive and keep my feet firmly in the reality that I am lucky and therefore embrace it and love it\u2026 So I have fun doing what I love. When life can be so grey for us sometimes… I try to keep some connection to people by raising a smile and hopefully inspire too\u2026<\/p>\n

Nervosa I brought because I love what they do but also wanted to show the fans how great they are not only in their music but as people too and I love spending time listening to them watching them live but also being around them.. ANR : You\u2019ve played solo in Japan in December, with Japanese musicians (Mirai Kawashima, Nemo, Akira\u2026) could you please tell us about this Winter trip ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

TD :<\/strong> Ah, yes… And I will do more 2019 and beyond\u2026 It’s always a great pleasure being in Japan where I feel at home and have many friends and incredible fans. This last trip was very special\u2026 So many great Japanese artists joined me and we played some great music from Venom, Metallica, Mot\u00f6rhead and even Saxon\u2026 Was the best time and there’s more Supersessions to come via UPP and more international artists to join.<\/p>\n

ANR : After an North American Leg last Autumn, in February you will perform in South America, in thirteen cities for the \u00ab Av\u00e9 Latin America Tour 2019 \u00bb, I\u2019ve read and seen on social medias that Metal Maniacs from there are dying to see Venom Inc. What is your feeling bout leaving England next month for touring in South America ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

TD :<\/strong> It’s been a couple of years since we went to South America but we didn’t perform everywhere so this time, although it wasn’t possible to get every single place on the tour, I’ve managed to expand the tour to do countries we didn’t get to, so with very few exceptions we can truly say we will tour South America almost completely and get to fans who otherwise may not have been able to travel or afford to see us! That is quite special and we cannot wait to get to those amazing places with those incredible fans and of course see old friends!!! Amazing scenery, food, cultures and people\u2026 What could be better ?!? Nothing !!!<\/p>\n

ANR : Is Jeff \u00ab Mantas \u00bb Dunn after his recovering is 100 % operational, well and alive, after this Heart Surgery last may ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

TD :<\/strong> He’s doing great. Dying isn’t easy of course but they saved him thank fuck and I’m glad because he’s my brother and I love him\u2026 He’s stronger and I’d even say healthier as he’d been suffering without realizing for so long…. When you see him onstage you see his new life and energy and a new outlook… Live for now !!! It may all be gone in an instant\u2026<\/p>\n

TD :<\/strong> Oh it’s beyond words !!! To have been given the Honour of Bloodstock, Alcatraz and Porispere 2018 and then to be offered because of those appearances, WACKEN and then HELLFEST ??? Just the most incredible end to 2018 which ended up being the best end to that year ! For 2019 having HELLFEST in France which such an amazing lineup on the day we play ? No words enough can describe !<\/p>\n

ANR : My idea, after seeing you performing on stage, is that Venom Inc. is more a Rock\u2019n\u2019Roll Band, with a Punky attitude and British approach, than another Black Metal Band. Are you agree with that ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

TD :<\/strong> I agree ! I was a punk and it’s always infiltrated my music… Mantas style without the distortion overdriven is Rock\u2019n\u2019Roll\u2026 And by us paying the music the way we do, with the passion from the heart it began with\u2026 Gives it the Punk edge… And with our experience and style of playing gives it that Rock\u2019n\u2019Roll feel… It’s heavy and dark of course but it’s fundamental to staying true to who we are.<\/p>\n

TD : <\/strong>Too hard I think\u2026 Too much great material to play for me personally\u2026 Highlights ? \u00ab WAR \u00bb, \u00ab METAL WE BLEED \u00bb, \u00ab AVE SATANAS \u00bb, \u00ab 1000 Days in Sodom \u00bb, \u00ab Blackened Are The Priests \u00bb, \u00ab Live Like An Angel \u00bb, \u00ab Poison \u00bb, all give me a great buzz !<\/p>\n

ANR : Venom Inc. is not playing covers so much\u2026 But I suppose you like doing covers of your favorite artists. What are the songs you love to covering (in studio while recording for example) ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

TD :<\/strong> No\u2026 Ah always Mot\u00f6rhead for fun or Judas Priest classics\u2026 Especially the fast stuff… Mantas isn’t into thrash like me, so I do that on guitar if I’m just messing around but we both love classic Metal as we both have that as influence…<\/p>\n

ANR : By the way, what are your mains influences ? The bands and artists your love the most ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

TD :<\/strong> Well of course Mot\u00f6rhead were… The Dickies were\u2026 Bass ? Lemmy, Geddy Lee, Billy Sheenan… Geezer Butler. Bands I love musically ? Slayer, Rammstein, Metallica, Immortal, Destruction, Master, Backwater, Bathory, Obituary, Malevolent Creation, Exumer, and a million more !!! Newer : Dustbolt, Power Trip, Nervosa, Nervo Chaos, No Raza, Ultra Violence, Rezet\u2026<\/p>\n

ANR : You are obviously a big Fan of Mot\u00f6rhead. And this band seems to be an influence for the sound and the attitude of Venom Inc. I\u2019ve also seen you\u2019ve met Lemmy, which is indeed a legend here in France, several times : can you tell us please about him ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

TD :<\/strong> I am and do not excuse that I carry him with me since he died with every show ! My JD & Coke pre show, my Snaggletooth necklace and having my microphone in the elevated position were all done to consciously the day I heard he’d died… I simply didn’t want to lose him and as he was the reason I actually did what I did as a career… I wanted to dedicate every performance in some way to his memory… NOT for anyone else, just for me saluting him. He inspired me and still inspires me… As he did everyone he met… It’s a personal thing to me of course. He was REAL, honest and what he was was what he was…THAT was the greatest lesson he taught me. Appreciate true fans and just be true to yourself…<\/p>\n

TD :<\/strong> I did some and TV yes.. It’s difficult because I’m fortunate to have met a great many and worked with some too. I think Dame Maggie Smith is an incredible Actress as well as Dame Helen Mirrem\u2026 And Sir Ian Mckellen and Anthony Hopkins are actors on another level\u2026 Robert De Niro and Tom Hanks also incredible actors.<\/p>\n

ANR : And your French favorite ones ? Or movies ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

TD : <\/strong>Ha ha !!! Well my father in law sadly gone now introduced me to the exceptional Jacques Tati who remains unchallenged to me… Watch \u00ab Les Vacances de Monsieur Hulot \u00bb for proof ! Of course my age gave me a very Hot Bridgette Bardot but Catherine Deneuve too !!! Wow ! Once at the Royal Shakespeare Company, Simon Callow (well known British actor) directed \u00ab Les Enfants Du Paradis \u00bb\u2026 it was 4 hours long as he didn’t want to edit from his favorite movie ha ha ha ! I hated it then fell in love with that remarkable movie\u2026<\/p>\n

ANR\u00a0: What is the English personality \/ celebrity you like the most in England\u2019s history, musical or not ? Winston Churchill ? Richard III ? Lemmy Kilmister ? Steve Jones ? Rowan Atkinson ? Or another person\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

TD :<\/strong> Richard III and Isambard Kingdom Brunel\u2026 The first because I adore Shakespeare and Richard III is my favorite play, but he’s also a fascinating historical figure misrepresented too\u2026 Brunel because I’m an engineer\u2026 Although not a \u00ab civil \u00bb engineers his constructions his achievement and his engineering mind leave you speechless… Well me anyway and that no mean feat ha ha ha !<\/p>\n
