Les six p’tits gars de Fort Worth nous reviennent apr\u00e8s six ans d’absence pour leur cinqui\u00e8me album studio. Fond\u00e9 en 2002 les musiciens baignent pourtant dans une ambiance hard rock des ann\u00e9es 70. Pour \u00eatre plus pr\u00e9cise, le groupe a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0fortement\u00a0\u00bb influenc\u00e9 par Deep Purple. Bien que n’\u00e9tant pas de la m\u00eame g\u00e9n\u00e9ration, il est parfois difficile de dissocier les deux.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Blood of the Sun rentre dans le vif du sujet avec \u00ab\u00a0Keep the Lemmys Comin\u00a0\u00bb, chanson rythm\u00e9e avec des envol\u00e9es guitaristiques et solos de clavier chers \u00e0 feu Jon Lord. La voix suit le chemin en partant dans des tonalit\u00e9s proches de Ian Gillian. Pas de temps mort pour nos oreilles, on encha\u00eene avec un \u00ab\u00a0My Time\u00a0\u00bb plus rock, Les guitares se font plus pr\u00e9sentes et la voix plus grave… si l’on devait rester dans les influences, je dirais que l’esprit de Black Sabbath se fait un peu plus ressentir sur ce morceau, toute premi\u00e8re p\u00e9riode bien s\u00fbr.<\/p>\n

Le titre \u00ab\u00a0Livin’ for the Night\u00a0\u00bb nous replonge dans un \u00ab\u00a0Highway Star\u00a0\u00bb remis \u00e0 un peu de modernit\u00e9 (mais pas trop non plus, il ne faut pas abuser quand m\u00eame!!). Beaucoup de solos de guitares encore une fois et un style de chant emprunt\u00e9 aux meilleurs groupes des ann\u00e9es 70, Les deux derniers titres sont du m\u00eame acabit\u00a0: suite de riffs rapides et de solos de clavier.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Pour finir, je conseille cet album \u00e0 tout fan de musique du rock dans ann\u00e9es 70 et du duo Gillian\/Blackmore en particulier. La pochette est styl\u00e9e et donne le ton du contenu de ce \u00ab\u00a0Blood thicker than love\u00a0\u00bb. Malgr\u00e9 quelques longueurs (seulement 6 titres mais des morceaux d’une dur\u00e9e moyenne de 7\/8 mn), l’ensemble se laisse bien \u00e9couter.<\/p>\n
