Ce sont en vrac son opini\u00e2tret\u00e9, deux ou trois albums cultes publi\u00e9s entre 1985 et 1990 et la Street Credibility de Scott Ian qui ont permis \u00e0 son groupe d\u2019arracher, telle la France \u00e0 l\u2019ONU, un si\u00e8ge \u00e0 la table des grandes puissances du Thrash Metal. A l\u2019instar des trois autres, le \u00ab\u00a0Good Jewish Boy\u00a0\u00bb et ses sbires ont sorti il y a deux ans un album studio tr\u00e8s correct (\u00ab\u00a0For all Kings\u00a0\u00bb, chroniqu\u00e9 en ces colonnes virtuelles), parfois d\u00e9sign\u00e9 disque de l\u2019ann\u00e9e 2016 par certains Webzines, ce qui leur a donn\u00e9 le pr\u00e9texte de sillonner la Plan\u00e8te bleue, de jouer leurs classiques, et de rappeler ce faisant que leur r\u00e9pertoire s\u2019\u00e9tale d\u00e9sormais sur quatre d\u00e9cennies. Opportun\u00e9ment concentr\u00e9e sur les morceaux du r\u00e9cent \u00ab\u00a0For all Kings\u00a0\u00bb et de l\u2019intemporel \u00ab\u00a0Among the Living\u00a0\u00bb publi\u00e9 en 1987, cette tourn\u00e9e promo et anniversaire s\u2019intitula \u00ab\u00a0Among the Kings\u00a0\u00bb. Elle passa le 16 mars 2017 par Paris (un Elys\u00e9e Montmartre \u00e0 moiti\u00e9 vide, mais c\u2019est une autre histoire, c\u2019est arriv\u00e9 aussi \u00e0 AC\/DC chez nous\u2026) et le 15 f\u00e9vrier \u00e0 Glasgow (\u00ab\u00a0At the band&rsquo;s sold-out concert at Glasgow\u2019s historic venue the Barrowland Ballroom\u00a0\u00bb me dit la fiche communiqu\u00e9e par la maison de disques, le pourquoi du comment d\u2019un choix si peu pourvu de symbolique&#8230;). Enregistr\u00e9, donc, chez les Ecossais (qu\u2019on entend peu in fine, sauf entre les chansons) \u00ab\u00a0Kings Among Scotland\u00a0\u00bb est le cinqui\u00e8me album Live du groupe (sans compter \u00ab\u00a0Attack of the Killer B\u2019s\u00a0\u00bb de 1991 qui est un Patchwork foutraque de faces B, de captures sc\u00e9niques, de Remix, de chansons potaches, et qui est pour l\u2019auteur de ces lignes l\u2019absolue quintessence de ce qu\u2019est Anthrax). La pochette est un pastiche de \u00abRock and Roll Over\u00a0\u00bb de Kiss, r\u00e9f\u00e9rence idol\u00e2tre de Scott Ian. Voil\u00e0 pour le contexte.<\/p>\n<p>Quant au contenu, toutes les dates de cette tourn\u00e9e \u00e9taient scind\u00e9es en deux th\u00e9matiques\u00a0: un assortiment des albums publi\u00e9s de 1985 \u00e0 2016\u00a0; l\u2019int\u00e9gralit\u00e9 des neufs titres composant \u00ab\u00a0Among the Living\u00a0\u00bb\u2026 mais jou\u00e9s dans un autre ordre que celui du disque. Et tout s\u2019ach\u00e8ve sur \u00ab Antisocial \u00bb de Trust jou\u00e9 en rappel. Ce qui frappe d\u2019embl\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9coute de la premi\u00e8re partie du Live, est la parfaite int\u00e9gration des morceaux issus de l\u2019album de 2016 \u00e0 l\u2019ensemble. Tout porte \u00e0 croire que le saccad\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0Evil Twins\u00a0\u00bb, la haletant \u00ab\u00a0Blood Eagle Wings\u00a0\u00bb et le lyrique \u00ab\u00a0Breathing Ligthning\u00a0\u00bb ont toujours exist\u00e9, qu\u2019ils auraient \u00e9t\u00e9 enregistr\u00e9s sous la pr\u00e9sidence de Georges Bush P\u00e8re lorsque le groupe portait des bermudas fluos, passait en Guest dans \u00ab\u00a0Mari\u00e9s, deux enfants\u00a0\u00bb sur la Fox et que Scott Ian poss\u00e9dait encore des cheveux (filasses certes). Ce premier p\u00f4le du concert s\u2019ouvre sur le lourdingue \u00ab\u00a0A.I.R.\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0Madhouse\u00a0\u00bb et \u00ab\u00a0Medusa\u00a0\u00bb, tous trois sur \u00ab\u00a0Spreading the Disease\u00a0\u00bb de 1985, s\u2019ensuivent les nouveaux morceaux d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9voqu\u00e9s, puis c\u2019est \u00ab\u00a0Figth \u2018em till you Can\u00a0\u00bb de 2008, et \u00ab\u00a0Be all, End all\u00a0\u00bb provenant du mal-aim\u00e9 (car b\u00e2cl\u00e9 selon les dires de notre barbichou) mais finalement culte \u00ab State of Euphoria \u00bb de 1988. Seul regret\u00a0: la reprise st\u00e9ro\u00efd\u00e9e \u00ab\u00a0Got the Time\u00a0\u00bb du rachitique Joe Jackson manque \u00e0 l\u2019appel (ou un \u00e9ventuel morceau de \u00ab\u00a0Persistence of Time\u00a0\u00bb de 1990). Pourtant celle-ci \u00e9tait encore jou\u00e9e par Anthrax lors de leurs p\u00e9nulti\u00e8mes passages \u00e0 Paris et au Hellfest en 2015 et 2016\u2026 Ce premier sous-ensemble est agr\u00e9ablement compact. Mais moins, pardi, que le second de ce Live, qui reprend en totalit\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0Among the Living\u00a0\u00bb, lourde galette trentenaire, souvent consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme un des meilleurs albums de Metal de l\u2019histoire du genre. En fait, l\u2019exercice est \u00e0 la mode outre-Atlantique depuis que M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce (la compl\u00e8te de \u00ab\u00a0Dr. Feelgood\u00a0\u00bb) et Metallica (\u00ab\u00a0Metallica\u00a0\u00bb) s\u2019y sont coll\u00e9s\u2026 Un peu plan-plan et artificiel aussi, le concert perdant en diversit\u00e9 et en spontan\u00e9it\u00e9. L\u2019avantage est que le novice acquerra d\u2019un coup et une compilation et un album entier jou\u00e9s en public. Avec un son convenable et quelques d\u00e9raillements de voix de Joey Belladonna (comme d\u2019hab\u2019). Que dire, sinon que l\u2019intro Tam-Tam \u00e0 la batterie de \u00ab\u00a0Indians\u00a0\u00bb est plus longue, donc plus jouissive, que sur la version Studio.
