\nAvec le groupe culte des ann\u00e9es 90, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 amen\u00e9 \u00e0 tourner avec rien moins que Tool, Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, Kiss, entre autres.\u00a0Autre collaboration de taille, il a jou\u00e9 live avec SunnO))) pour plusieurs dates aux US et en Europe.<\/p>\n

L’album en chronique ici, \u00ab\u00a0The value of Decay\u00a0\u00bb est sorti pour la 1\u00e8re fois en 2011. Season of Mist le r\u00e9-\u00e9dite avec un bonus track, \u00ab\u00a0Dim Candle\u00a0\u00bb. Au total, l’auditeur dispose de 16 titres pour presque une heure d’\u00e9coute. Une \u00e9coute pour le moins vari\u00e9e, avec le sieur Deutrom \u00e0 tous les instruments except\u00e9 la batterie, pratiqu\u00e9e par Cully Symington.<\/p>\n

Relativement exp\u00e9rimental, les morceaux sont assez \u00e9clectiques, passant d’ambiances enlev\u00e9es \u00e0 d’autres plus solennelles, ou m\u00eame tr\u00e8s sombres. Les fans du Rock des ann\u00e9es 90 devraient y retrouver de nombreuses influences, assez logique vu l’historique du musicien\u00a0: Melvins, Mike Patton, Tool, ou m\u00eame Jane\u2019s Addiction.
\nUn morceau d\u00e9coup\u00e9 revient \u00e0 4 reprises, Love Story. Dans le m\u00eame genre, \u00ab\u00a0Au printemps\u00a0\u00bb, fait figure d’interm\u00e8de pas vraiment primesautier malgr\u00e9 son titre, plut\u00f4t compass\u00e9, jou\u00e9 par le Hill Country String Quartet.
\nLourd \u00e9galement, \u00ab\u00a0Buried in the Jewel\u00a0\u00bb, tr\u00e8s bon ambassadeur du style Sludge. De m\u00eame que le morceau suivant, un poil plus remuant, \u00ab\u00a0Victors Closet\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Plus a\u00e9rien, mais sans perdre la saturation des guitares, \u00ab\u00a0Cities of Gold\u00a0\u00bb am\u00e8ne presque de la l\u00e9g\u00e8ret\u00e9 \u00e0 l’album. L\u00e9g\u00e8ret\u00e9 du son \u00e9galement pour Blood Fairies, mais pas pour l’ambiance, tr\u00e8s inqui\u00e9tante, un peu \u00e0 la fa\u00e7on de la bande-son du Dracula de Coppola.<\/p>\n

Pour conclure, The Value of Decay est un must-have pour tout fan des Melvins ou du Stoner en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, m\u00eame si personnellement,\u00a0je le trouve un peu trop exp\u00e9rimental.<\/p>\n
