Quelles ont \u00e9t\u00e9 vos inspirations et la fa\u00e7on de composer cet album\u00a0?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Paul Van Bruystegem<\/strong>\u00a0: C\u2019est un peu diff\u00e9rent de l\u2019album pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent, parce que l\u00e0 on a jou\u00e9 live en studio. M\u00eame le chant \u00e9tait comme en concert. Cette fois on avait l\u2019id\u00e9e de rester ouvert, de faire tout ce qu\u2019on voulait. Ce n\u2019\u00e9tait pas obligatoire qu\u2019on joue live, l\u2019id\u00e9e s\u2019est faite petit \u00e0 petit. On a achet\u00e9 un studio, ce qui \u00e9tait assez pratique pour enregistrer. On a gard\u00e9 tout ce qu\u2019on a enregistr\u00e9 et puis on a pris tout \u00e7a \u00e0 Santa Monica chez Mitchell Froom et finalement on a presque tout gard\u00e9. A part un morceau, tout \u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 enregistr\u00e9. On a juste rajout\u00e9 quelques exp\u00e9rimentations, ce qui \u00e9tait tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rent de ce que l\u2019on faisait avant et travaill\u00e9 avec un producteur. Avant on avait Gregory Gordon, qui \u00e9tait plus un technicien qu\u2019un producteur. Mitchell Froom a une \u00e9norme exp\u00e9rience. Il a travaill\u00e9 avec Paul McCartney, Los Lobos. C\u2019\u00e9tait tr\u00e8s enrichissant de par son exp\u00e9rience et son c\u00f4t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s humain. C\u2019est une personne tr\u00e8s humble et intelligente. Il est aussi tr\u00e8s rigolo. Il nous a mis \u00e0 l\u2019aise pour que tout se passe bien. On \u00e9tait un peu intimid\u00e9 au d\u00e9but par son curriculum vitae et il a \u00e9galement travaill\u00e9 pour Suzanne Vega qui est aussi sa femme. Son approche a \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s simple.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>ANR\u00a0: Qu\u2019est-ce qui vous a inspir\u00e9 dans vos compositions\u00a0?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Paul<\/strong>\u00a0: Ruben fait d\u2019habitude ses compositions sur sa guitare mais il a voulu changer. On a maintenant un studio avec un clavier, il ne sait pas en jouer mais il a trouv\u00e9 des m\u00e9lodies et on les a gard\u00e9es. On a un peu essay\u00e9 diff\u00e9rentes fa\u00e7ons de composer un morceau. Un peu g\u00ean\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0tu aimes \u00e7a\u00a0?\u00a0\u00bb (ndlr\u00a0: on parle des m\u00e9lodies\u00a0!!), \u00ab\u00a0oui, essayons\u00a0\u00bb\u2026 et petit \u00e0 petit, on est arriv\u00e9 \u00e0 quelque chose de vraiment diff\u00e9rent. Chaque d\u00e9mo qu\u2019on faisait, chaque enregistrement, on l\u2019envoyait \u00e0 Mitchell. Il pouvait nous r\u00e9pondre directement, \u00e7a j\u2019aime bien, \u00e7a pourrait \u00eatre mieux\u2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>ANR\u00a0: la pochette est tr\u00e8s belle, comment l\u2019avez-vous travaill\u00e9e\u00a0?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Paul<\/strong>\u00a0:\u00a0C\u2019est un copain de Ruben qui l\u2019a faite. Il a pris des photos, les a retravaill\u00e9es sur Photoshop. Cela repr\u00e9sente l\u2019image \u00ab\u00a0Colossus\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0: c\u2019est volontairement un peu flou pour que chacun puisse y mettre l\u2019histoire qu\u2019il veut. Tout est tr\u00e8s subjectif.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>ANR\u00a0: Eh bien voil\u00e0, \u00e7a fait 5 mn. Un mot pour finir\u00a0? Sur la tourn\u00e9e\u00a0?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Paul<\/strong>\u00a0: Nous serons fin ao\u00fbt en festival puis une tourn\u00e9e de 60 dates \u00e0 partir du 4 octobre. On joue le 25 novembre \u00e0 Paris je crois, on joue partout en Europe en fait. On est tr\u00e8s content de reprendre la route apr\u00e8s un an et demi. Nous aurons aussi un 4<sup>\u00e8me<\/sup> musicien en plus, pour lancer les samples. Ils sont deux\u00a0: quand l\u2019un n\u2019est pas libre il est remplac\u00e9 par l\u2019autre. On a jou\u00e9 \u00e0 Barcelone, \u00e0 Berlin, en Turquie et \u00e7a me fait plaisir. J\u2019ai pris une ann\u00e9e sabbatique et j\u2019en ai profit\u00e9 pour faire un album solo, un livre \u00ab\u00a0diary\u00a0\u00bb, comment on dit \u00e7a\u00a0?<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>ANR\u00a0: Un journal\u00a0?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Paul<\/strong>\u00a0: Oui, un journal de toutes les ann\u00e9es Triggerfinger, de chaque jour avec des photos et tout \u00e7a\u2026 Il est sorti en Hollande mais pas en France. \u00c7a s\u2019est bien vendu d\u2019ailleurs.
