Sans pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment le vouloir, le nom de leur dix-septi\u00e8me disque \u00ab\u00a0Un pied dans la tombe\u00a0\u00bb symbolise d\u2019ailleurs ce grand \u00e9cart. A la base, les \u00ab\u00a0quatre Allemands tr\u00e8s laids\u00a0\u00bb, tels qu\u2019ils s\u2019\u00e9taient eux-m\u00eames surnomm\u00e9s dans les ann\u00e9es 1980, souhaitent rendre compte avec humour de leur passage \u00e0 la cinquantaine. Pourquoi pas\u00a0? Apr\u00e8s, aucun titre d\u2019album des Rolling Stones, qui ont pourtant pass\u00e9 ce cap il n\u2019y a pas loin de vingt-cinq ans d\u00e9j\u00e0, n\u2019a fait allusion \u00e0 cet \u00e9tat de fait (\u00e0 y r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir, Jagger en aurait fait une d\u00e9pression\u2026). De plus, la vieille garde Thrash Metal dite \u00ab\u00a0Old School\u00a0\u00bb, des plus rupins de la C\u00f4te Ouest aux plus modestes de la Rhur, voire de la p\u00e9riph\u00e9rie Lilloise, n\u2019a jamais os\u00e9 en r\u00e9f\u00e9rer \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e2ge du Capitaine ou \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tat de ses art\u00e8res. Tankard, si. Ils osent. Et avec humour, comme en atteste l\u2019\u00e9ni\u00e8me rigolarde pochette sign\u00e9e ici par Patrick Strogulski\u00a0: l\u2019Alien, apparu pour la premi\u00e8re fois en 1989, y signe son retour\u2026 arrim\u00e9 \u00e0 un d\u00e9ambulateur, et errant dans un cimeti\u00e8re. Il \u00e9tait sorti des radars depuis celle de \u00ab\u00a0Beast of Bourbon\u00a0\u00bb en 2004. Une \u00e9ternit\u00e9, \u00e7a doit \u00eatre \u00e7a\u2026 D\u2019ailleurs, en parlant de Bourbon et de Stones, la t\u00eate de papier-m\u00e2ch\u00e9 de cet E.T. l\u00e0 me fait \u00e9trangement penser \u00e0 celle de quelqu\u2019un d\u2019autre\u2026 \u00ab\u00a0Senile with Style\u00a0\u00bb. So what\u00a0?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La nouveaut\u00e9. Ce fameux grand \u00e9cart, r\u00e9side dans le fait que, pour la premi\u00e8re fois en trente-cinq ann\u00e9es de Tankarderies, les chansons dites \u00ab\u00a0\u00e0 th\u00e8me\u00a0\u00bb sont plus nombreuses que les chansons \u00e0 boire. Sur ce point, le ventripotent Gerre nie en toute bonne foi s\u2019\u00eatre inspir\u00e9 de la concurrence (Kreator par exemple), et met illico presto en avant les deux-trois morceaux bon-vivants de ce nouveau disque lorsqu\u2019on lui fait la remarque en ITW. Dans cette cat\u00e9gorie Fun se classent\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0Sole Grinder\u00a0\u00bb, d\u00e9di\u00e9 \u00e0 Uwe \u00ab Buffo \u00bb Schn\u00e4delbach, leur dynamique Manager (\u00ab\u00a0le chol\u00e9rique le plus dr\u00f4le d\u2019Allemagne\u00a0\u00bb), lequel commence sur un chant de supporters Allemands (Frankfurt\u00a0?)\u00a0; \u00ab\u00a0Secret Order 1516\u00a0\u00bb, LA chanson \u00e0 bi\u00e8re de l\u2019album\u00a0; et bien s\u00fbr l\u2019ironique \u00e9ponyme \u00ab\u00a0One Foot in The Grave\u00a0\u00bb, ax\u00e9 sur leur \u00e2ge soi-disant canonique. Il n\u2019emp\u00eache. Trois chansons sur dix n\u2019est pas une majorit\u00e9. Car, de l\u2019autre c\u00f4t\u00e9 (le plus grave)\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0Pray to Pay\u00a0\u00bb s\u2019attaque aux \u00e9vang\u00e9listes avides de dons (th\u00e8me cher \u00e0 Phil Collins)\u00a0; \u00ab\u00a0Arena of the True Lies\u00a0\u00bb d\u00e9plore les Fake News et les vilaines rumeurs distill\u00e9es par le Net\u00a0; \u00ab\u00a0Syrian Nightmare\u00a0\u00bb relate le calvaire endur\u00e9 au vu de tous par la population Syrienne depuis 2011\u00a0; \u00ab\u00a0The Evil that Man Display\u00a0\u00bb \u00e9voque les travers du genre humain (tr\u00e8s Maiden ce titre\u2026). Outre la circonstance, relative, que le parolier confesse dor\u00e9navant voir le Monde avec un regard nouveau, celui de la maturit\u00e9\u00a0; et que son batteur Olaf a \u00e9cop\u00e9 d\u2019un AVC il y a deux ans\u00a0; on n\u2019oubliera pas que Gerre est, de toutes fa\u00e7ons, travailleur social dans le civil. Et qu\u2019il poss\u00e8de un c\u0153ur gros comme \u00e7a. Bien plus gros que sa bedaine, c\u2019est dire. Peut-\u00eatre, \u00e9galement, que les Allemands se sentent actuellement plus concern\u00e9s que d\u2019autres par la mis\u00e8re mondiale. En Gehhilfe (\u00ab\u00a0d\u00e9ambulateur\u00a0\u00bb) ou non, Tankard fait incontestablement montre de son savoir-faire antique, et fait la nique \u00e0 bon nombre de jeunes formations. Les pr\u00e9cit\u00e9s \u00ab\u00a0Pray to Pay\u00a0\u00bb (et son intro \u00e9pique)\u00a0; \u00ab\u00a0Arena of the True Lies\u00a0\u00bb (et sa rythmique \u00e9pileptique)\u00a0; \u00ab\u00a0One Foot in the Grave\u00a0\u00bb (dont le d\u00e9but ressemble \u00e0 \u00ab\u00a0Ain\u2019t it Fun\u00a0\u00bb des Dead Boys\u00a0\u00bb\u2026 avant de se r\u00e9v\u00e9ler redoutable du point de vue Thrash)\u00a0; le gueulard et sombre \u00ab\u00a0Syrian Nignthmare\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0; \u00ab\u00a0Secret Order 1516\u00a0\u00bb aux accents de musique classique (en r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 cette date\u00a0: celle de la \u00ab Loi sur la puret\u00e9 de la bi\u00e8re \u00bb, promulgu\u00e9e par le duc Guillaume IV de Bavi\u00e8re)\u00a0et ses gros ch\u0153urs virils ; ne souffrent pas de la comparaison avec les nombreux classiques que les quatre loustics de Francfort ont amoncel\u00e9 au fil des ann\u00e9es. Sinon, nulle diff\u00e9rence dans la fa\u00e7on d\u2019interpr\u00e9ter les pochtronneries Teutonnes des morceaux plus concern\u00e9s\u00a0: Gerre braille les seconds de la m\u00eame fa\u00e7on que les premi\u00e8res, et il ne plagie ni Sting ni L\u00e9o Ferr\u00e9 lorsqu\u2019il d\u00e9peint la turpitude Sapiens-Sapiens. La batterie d\u2019Olaf est un mod\u00e8le du genre. La production est rustique mais convenable. Tout comme les compos. A gager que les quatre amis de la repl\u00e8te Cerveza les roderont sur les planches Outre-Rhin, avant de venir les jouer dans la patrie de Claude Brasseur. En d\u00e9finitive, nous tenons-l\u00e0 un authentique album de Thrash, tr\u00e8s attachant, et \u00e0 placer au m\u00eame rang que toutes les r\u00e9centes livraisons de la Classe 1980 notamment de leurs camarades de pr\u00e9au (dans l\u2019ordre des sorties\u00a0: Destruction\u00a0; Sodom ; Kreator). Un disque jouissif et enrichi par l\u2019exp\u00e9rience.
